What is Neckly, in plain terms?
Neckly is a general wellness and exercise app. It gives you guided mobility, stretching, strengthening and breathing routines for your neck, and it tracks how consistently you do them. That is the whole product.
What is Neckly not?
Neckly does not diagnose anything. It cannot tell you why your neck hurts. It does not treat any condition, it is not physiotherapy, it is not a substitute for seeing a doctor or physiotherapist, and it does not replace a treatment plan you have already been given.
If a clinician has told you to do something specific, do that. If Neckly's routine contradicts their advice, theirs wins.
When should I see a clinician instead of opening an app?
Some symptoms need a person, not an exercise routine. Stop and seek medical care if any of the following apply:
| Symptom | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Pain radiating into the arm or hand | May indicate nerve root involvement |
| Numbness, tingling or pins and needles | Same — needs assessment before loading the neck |
| Weakness in an arm or hand, or dropping things | Possible nerve compression |
| Neck pain after a fall, collision or whiplash | Structural injury must be excluded first |
| Fever alongside neck pain or stiffness | Can indicate infection |
| Unexplained weight loss, or pain that wakes you at night | Warrants investigation |
| Loss of bladder or bowel control, or trouble walking | Seek urgent care immediately |
| Severe headache unlike any you have had before | Seek urgent care immediately |
Most neck pain is not any of these — it is muscular, habit-driven, and improves with movement.12 But an app cannot tell the difference, and neither can a checklist. That is what clinicians are for.
Who should check with someone before starting?
Talk to a healthcare professional before beginning any neck exercise programme if you are pregnant, have had neck or spinal surgery, have a diagnosed cervical spine condition such as disc herniation, spinal stenosis or arthritis, have osteoporosis, have a history of stroke or vertebral artery problems, or take blood thinners.
What about the appearance programmes?
Neckly's jawline, chin and face-yoga content works on muscles and habits. It cannot remove fat from a specific area — spot reduction is not a thing — and it does not change bone structure. Anyone promising otherwise is selling you something. We try to be explicit about what these routines can and cannot change.
What if something hurts during a session?
Stop. Exercise for neck pain should feel like effort or a mild stretch, never sharp pain, and never numbness or tingling. Pain that increases during or after a session, or that persists for more than a couple of days, means stop and get it assessed.
Does this disclaimer change anything about your rights?
No. Nothing here limits any legal right you have under the consumer law of your country. The full terms are in the Terms of Service, and how we handle data is in the Privacy Policy.
In short
Use Neckly the way you would use a running app or a yoga app: as structured, general-purpose guidance for a healthy habit. Do not use it as a substitute for a diagnosis you have not had.
